SMALL MIRACLES INTERNATIONAL, INC. is a private, not-for-profit
corporation with 501c3 status. We have been licensed in the state of
Oklahoma as a child-placement agency since 1985. SMI offers services to
birth and adoptive or potential adoptive families.
The primary focus of this agency is intercountry adoption with the
placement of foreign-born children into homes here in the United States.
Our concentration of efforts is in Guatemala, C.A. where we have been
working since 1986. Outside the United States there continues to be, in
underdeveloped countries, large numbers of children for whom adoption is
the only chance for a permanent, loving family.
Currently, SMI is able to find families for
75 to 100 children each year. The largest number of children placed are
those under 12 months of age at referral, followed by toddlers,
preschoolers, and older and/or special needs children. The numbers of
children placed is limited only by the number of qualified adoptive
families.
Children available are from both the Relinquishment and Abandonment
Programs. More children come from a program where child care is in a
foster home but some children available reside in small orphanages.
Formal referral of specific children are not made until the family is
documented and has US INS approval (I-171H), In the case of children
from the Abandonment program formal referrals are not made until the
child is legally free. Our Program Fees are $20,000. A
complete breakdown of this and other fees can be obtained by requesting
an Information Packet by phone, fax or e-mail.
ADOPTION IS NOT FOR ALL: For many children adoption is neither an
appropriate nor possible option. For this reason, SMI has always been
involved in other child welfare programs and services to assist/support
children in their country-of-origin providing services that will enable
a family to remain intact. Our Foundation funds many activities such as
orphanage support and a Nutrition Program feeding 200 plus children each
day. Our biggest project is the Medical Teams which travel twice
annually to Guatemala to provide surgery and treatment to children
otherwise without access to medical care.
Small Miracles International, Inc. has a constant need for families open to normal, healthy baby boys. See the cuties that are currently looking for
their forever home. Are you that family?

One very special little boy also needs a home: Allan was born July 8, 2006
and was relinquished to a private orphanage on September 22, '06. He is
diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. As you can see he is an
adorable little boy who is doing well. He has a shunt that will need to be
replaced as he grows. Any potential adoptive family MUST have excellent
insurance coverage and be willing to investigate services available in their locale.
The legal fees are being totally WAIVED. The fees for Allan's care are to
be determined on the basis of the family's ability to pay. THIS child
should qualify for any of the programs which offer "scholarships" for
adoptions.
Additional information is available for potentially qualified families.
